1. About SquadCars

SquadCars is a coordination tool that helps families organise shared rides for children's sports events and activities. We provide the platform — we do not provide transportation, employ drivers, or operate vehicles.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate contact information (name, phone, address) so other parents can coordinate rides safely.
  • You may only add children to your family for whom you have parental or guardian responsibility.

3. Your responsibilities as a driver

When you offer a car for an event:

  • You confirm you hold a valid driving licence and appropriate insurance for carrying passengers, including other people's children.
  • You are responsible for the safety of all passengers in your vehicle.
  • You agree to drive to and from the event as indicated in your car offer.
  • If you can no longer drive, you must remove your car offer promptly so affected families can make alternative arrangements.

SquadCars is not responsible for the conduct, driving, or safety record of any driver. Parents should satisfy themselves that they are comfortable with the arrangements before booking their child into a car.

4. Your responsibilities as a parent

  • You are responsible for ensuring your child is ready for pickup at the agreed time and location.
  • You must provide accurate safety information (allergies, medical conditions) in your child's notes if relevant to their transport.
  • You should review who is driving before booking your child into a car.
  • If your child can no longer attend, update their status promptly so the driver knows.

5. What SquadCars does and does not do

We do:

  • Provide a platform to coordinate rides between families who already know each other (e.g. same sports team).
  • Send notifications when rides are booked, changed, or cancelled.
  • Maintain an audit log of all changes for transparency.
  • Automatically delete event data after 90 days.

We do not:

  • Vet, screen, or background-check drivers.
  • Verify driving licences or insurance.
  • Provide insurance or liability coverage for any ride.
  • Guarantee that rides will take place as arranged.
  • Act as a transportation provider.

6. Limitation of liability

SquadCars is provided "as is" without warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from rides coordinated through the platform.
  • We are not liable for the actions or omissions of any driver or parent.
  • We are not liable for missed pickups, late arrivals, or transportation failures.
  • Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use SquadCars for commercial transportation services.
  • Share your account credentials with others.
  • Add people to a carpool without their knowledge.
  • Use the platform to harass, abuse, or intimidate other users.
  • Attempt to access data belonging to carpools you are not a member of.

8. Subscriptions and payment

  • New accounts receive a free trial period.
  • Paid subscriptions increase the number of carpools you can create and unlock additional features.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

9. Account termination

  • You may delete your account at any time. All your data will be permanently removed.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
  • When you leave a carpool, your car offers and bookings in that carpool are removed.

10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of SquadCars after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
